Florence part 1

Ciao!

After staying for six days in Rome I went to my next stop which was Florence! I must say that it was one of my favourite cities in Italy! Even though I liked Rome I think it was too overwhelming for me. When I arrived to the hostel in Florence I felt quite lonely as there was nobody in the room when I got there. I went around the city by myself and when I went back it turned out I was staying in the same room with a Greek girl! She was such a fun person and I met so many people through her :)
 Duomooo
I also went to one of the tours the hostel was organizing. This little window used to serve for buying wine. People would give the money and they would get the wine they ordered from the little whole on the wall or something like that. On the top they could see at what time it was open! Interesting...I hope it's true otherwise I will feel a total idiot if I am giving you wrong information!
That was the best ice cream I had in Italy! Chocolate and mascarpone so yummmmyyy!
I was lucky enough to have at least one sunny day in Florence because the rest of the week it didn't stop raining...just my luck! :D

Rome part 5

Ciaooo!

Guess what guys! This is my last post of Rome and from tomorrow I will start writing about Florence...but let's not get too excited hehe.

For my last days in Rome one of my friends from Finland who lives now in Italy came to see me for the weekend. It was very nice to see her even though I had to go to see all the places with her for the second time.

On today's post you aren't going to see anything new unfortunately...

Cool car :D I would love to have one of those!
I don't know what you thought when you saw this picture but my dirty little mind thought like "that must hurt on the bum!". I don't know how they do it but it doesn't look very nice D:
 looking good!
Once again the Spanish steps! Me between two very serious looking men. Where is the joy of life guys???
And FOOD! I ate so much pizza but I surely enjoyed every single calorie!
Life is good!

Rome part 4

Hello there!

To be continued...I know that there are many posts about Rome but I have no choice!
Rome felt like a big museum itself. So many things to see and too little time to visit everything!
The famous Spanish steps! To be honest I was quite disappointed. I guess I was expecting something really magnificent but they were just normal steps. I don't know why people make such a big fuss about them!

This was at piazza Venezia. I don't remember the name of the building, but my host used to call it the wedding cake because it was so white and big haha. Can't say he was wrong about that :)
As you might have noticed already I have a thing about ceilings...I love photographing them. They were just too beautiful!
In case you were wondering where the pope gets his clothes from! :D
Of course I visited the PANTHEON! I couldn't have missed that! It was huge and massive...as expected but in reality it was even bigger than I imagined!
A sweet ending for today's post!  As I said on the previous one I ate a lot in Italy. Besides you cannot go there without trying the best ice cream...you just can't! ;)

Rome part 3

Hello!

There are going to be a few more posts about Rome so be patient! :D

One of my favourite areas in Rome was Trastevere. I highly recommend you visit it if you ever go to Rome! Even though it took us a while to get there because we got a bit lost uhm...but in the end we found it so yey!
Trastevere was one of those places where I got this good feeling (you have probably no idea what I am talking about but that's alright). Full of small shops and restaurants...quite touristic probably but I loved it!
How could I resist an Italin tiramisu?? One of my absolut favourites! I admit it...I ate lots of sweets in Italy but you can't avoid it when you go there! You are going to forget everything about your healthy eating habbits once you visit Italy! Too much good food to try out :D
There were lot's of piazzas in Italy. We would walk from piazza to piazza...it reminded me a bit of Spain where they had plazas everywhere!
Later we walked up to a big hill from where we could see the whole city! Very nice indeed! :)
More to come soon! ;)

Ciao

Rome part 2

Hello there!

I will be posting every day something new about my trip so stay tuned! I have so many pictures from Italy that I thought it would be better to write different posts than try to fit them all in one  :)

So on my third day in Rome me and my new friend that were staying at the same place visited the magnificent Colosseum! Coming all the way to Rome without seeing it would have been a crime hehe. Even though we had to wait quite a while to get in but it was worth waiting! Besides when you have good company time flies :)
It was a sunny day...sorry about the bad quality of the pictures :/
My little discovery! Greek people always have to leave some kind of mark behind wherever they go :D
Now this is what I found quite fascinating! A picture of what people were doing during the battles. Just take a good look...people fighting, other playing, women fixing their hair and one guy doing some kind of barbeque! I must say that there was much more going on off-stage than on-stage :D
With the same ticket we got to enter the palatine hill which again took us hours to see but it was beautiful! :)
 Me! hihi
After that we wondered around Rome and basically got lost, but we found this beautiful garden on the way :) The best way to get to know a city is just walking around without knowing where you are going!
Some sweets...so yummyyyy!! You can never have too many :D
