Domestic Goddess

IT'S NEW YEARS EVE! Any plans for tonight people? Hopefully the weather is going to be good tonight because me, Pia and Tess are planning to head out and conquer the streets of Volos! Unfortunately Montana left for Berlin yesterday, but new years in Berlin sounds fun!

Last week we went to a small village up on the mountain with the girls and for some strange reason I am always amazed of how high it actually is! Even though I hate high places the view is pretty great!
Made some friends on the way...
That's the view I was talking about ;)
 Tess and Pia
 Grauh!
Frappe!
In case you were wondering the rest of the week we just spent our time drinking coffee! We found this cute little place in the city centre that has really good coffee. The owners of the coffee shop definitely know us really well now ;)
Also disney movies have been a big part of our daily routine as we have watched in a week The aristocats, Lady and the tramp, Fantasia 2000, Robin Hood and Princess and the frog. Disney movies will always be my favourite no matter how old I get!
 Coffee time number 1
 coffee time number 2
 coffee time number 3

Now that the girls have been under my influence they have turned into little domestic goddesses as they learned how to knit and make feta pies! Groovy ( as Pia would say)!
They are fast learners! So proud of them :)

Happy new year's eve everybody and remember:

Eat, Drink, Laugh

As expected Christmas this year was really wonderful and being able to spent it with my friends and family was even better! We laughed a lot and we definitely ate a lot. It is so easy to just say that it is okay to eat a lot because it's Christmas. We have been using that excuse for the last week and now that New year's is coming we will have another excuse. There is just something special about the food that makes everything much better! I have a whole philosphy about it, but this might not be the right time to start analyzing it...
Back to Christmas Eve! In my family we always have a traditional Finnish Christmas where we usually go to sauna and just have a traditional Christmas dinner that includes a big piece of ham, different salads, porkkanalaatikko and lanttu which for most people smells like fart, but we just love to eat that stuff! Even the girls tried it and they didn't seem to hate it!
After food came the best part which was the opening of the presents!
My parents were good this year as they got many gifts ;)
My sister and her husband didn't do too bad either!
Pia and Tess drew this on the gift they gave me. It's pretty obvious that I am the little short one in the middle hehe! What can you do...bad genes!
I was pretty happy to wear my new hat!
Once we all opened our presents our night ended with cheesecake and gingerbread cookies! (more food, yes!)
Besides I found this quote and for me it couldn't be more true!

“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Can't wait for New year's!

xx

Merry Christmas!

Ho,ho,ho!!

Merry Christmas everybody around the world wherever you are!

This Christmas is even more special to me as we are going to have a multicultural Christmas with my friends that I met in Sevilla!
My friend Montana from California came with me to Greece so we flew together from Barcelona to Athens and spent the longest bus ride from Athens to my hometown! Eventually we arrived and the first thing we got ourselves was giros!
I am so glad she decided to come!

I also got to teach her how to knit a little bit :)

Do you remember these girlies? It's Tess and Pia from Australia!! I also met them in Sevilla and I couldn't be happier to see them again!
The girls didn't get to rest a lot as I put them make christmas gingerbread cookies with me, muahaha!
 Tess being artistic
 oh Pia!
My sister and her husband came up with the idea of this years gingerbread house which turned out to be Egypt!
Pia and I came up with names for our gingerbread figures! Meet Stauros the turtle, Mister curly tail and the psychopath angel
Sauna is one thing on the schedule for today ( the Finnish way) and once we have been cooking all day there is going to be tons of food for later!YUM!
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas Eve!

Doors

13.12.2013

Before leaving Lisbon I wanted to see the castle which has one of the greatest views of the whole city.
My first thought though was "how are we going to get all that high up?"! Riley had the answer and just told me to follow her and I did what I was told. We walked this big hill that seemed to be endless and when we got to the top we realized that there was an elevator that could have taken us straight up...ugh -_-
At least we got our little morning exercise!
The girls got mad at me because I kept taking pictures of doors all the time and I don't blame them. I find them fascinating, what can I say!
Up we go to the castle!

Powerrrrrr

This was the amazing view the girls were talking about and I must admit that it was beautiful!
More doors...
These portuguese people have weird cars.
By the time we got back to the hostel me and Lulu had to pack our things as we had to leave Lisbon that night. Lulu's destination was Budapest and I had to catch my bus back to Sevilla where I stayed for a day before going back to Greece.
This was the last picture we took of the three of us at the metro station. We don't know when we are going to see each other again, but good friends always find their way to get back together! I will miss you crazy ladies!
