Hi there!

I can't believe it's been a week and I am still sick! I probably shouldn't complain about it but seriously! Is this ever going to get better!?!? I have run out of ideas of what to do anymore. I have become this old granny who sits all day long knitting and reading. Sigh...I'm depressed.

Besides the being sick part I have been trying to figure out what I am going to do this year. The time is just ticking so I better come up with a good plan. I am not going to allow myself be lazy this year! I must admit that I have been having some difficulties with my change of plans but everything is under control...I think.

Either way now my priority is to get better which doesn't seem to be happening any day soon! Feeling homesick isn't helping either but things could be a lot worse than this so I will have to be patient.

Now that I have had all this free time I found these pictures that I took ages ago in Greece. It's always nice to find old pictures that you don't remember you even had.

Also as I said I have been reading a lot lately so here are a few books that I liked and recommend.

"Αννέ σημαίνει μάνα" was my favourite so far. It was one of those books that had been sitting there on my mom's bookshelves for ages and I never really noticed it. I must say that I am the kind of person who judges books from their cover ( hate to admit it but it's true ) and this just didn't really appeal to me by the looks of it, but I'm glad I was wrong. I couldn't stop reading it and that's a fact that I love about a book! It has a lot to do with Greek history and Cyprus so if you are not interested in that kind of thing then it might not be for you. Besides I think that it hasn't been translated to English so you Greek readers out there give it a try ;)

"One Hundred Names" was also nice but it's one of those girly novels if you know what I mean. It has a happy ending which I appreciate as I can't stand books with bad endings and be like " Noooo...that was not supposed to go like that!". Either way...you won't be dissapointed. If you are looking for a girly novel this will be good for you ;)

I found "El árbol de la Diana" on the library mostly just to practise my Spanish. I didn't think I was going to like it but it wasn't too bad. I am probably more excited of the fact that I understood 90% of what was going on in the book, but it surely had some mysterious things going on which made it interesting.
It is one of those books that is all about drama, mystery and romance...some people might find that overwhelming but I quite liked it.

I wish you all a good weekend!

Oopsy...

Hi there!

I have been avoiding to write anything personal on here for a while but I guess it is the right time to spit it out. I have decided to postpone my studies and not go to Barcelona this year.

Of course the first question that everybody asks is this big scary word "WHY?" and then comes the next part "are you out of your mind?". Ummmm....mmmm...mmmm. Maybe I am out of my mind after all! On the other hand I can still go  there next year if I am ready for it or I can choose something totally different. At this point I need more time for self discovery to be honest. My whole life I have been forcing myself to do things as planned, but this time this plan just didn't feel so right for me.

I must say that I was really excited in the beginning but by the end of it I started feeling more and more overwhelmed. Psychologically I am just not ready for this yet. So I guess plan B is on again...which means more traveling for me!

Maybe I have been wanting to please everybody else more than myself and left aside what I wanted to do. I am not going to apologize for making my choices. If this turns out to be a big mistake then at least it's going to be my mistake.

Decisions, decisions

Hi there!

July has arrived and I couldn't be more happy! In a week and a half I will finally know my results from the University so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I am so nervious already and I know that my life will change quite a lot if I get in.

I know that people usually are afraid to show their real emotions but if I am honest I am so scared of what is going to happen! I remember when I moved to Finland almost five years ago of how difficult it was to fit in and get used to the way of life here. The question is am I ready to go through that again?

A good quote to remember that a good friend of mine told me was "You should always do the things you are afraid of". Now I realize that many things that I have done so far like moving to Finland or traveling on my own felt so scary in the beginning, but if I hadn't done those things nothing would have changed. I am more confident now and I realized that pushing yourself to do something that might not feel as the "safe" choice might turn out to be one of the best decisions you have ever made.

I know that the safe choice for me would be to stay in Finland and get a free education here, but that would be something that my family would want me to do. Being selfish at times is ok! We can't please everybody no matter what we do. I am glad though that my parents have supported me to do the things I want without trying to change my mind too much ;)
I wish you all a good week!

¡Ya veremos qué pasa!

Hello there!

A few days ago after a series of problems I finally got to send my papers to the University of Barcelona and in about three weeks from now I will know if I got in or not!

It is amazing though how complicated the whole process was and I still think that there is something wrong with the application. I must admit that my mom's help came in quite handy as I had no idea of how to do this but let's hope that everything is correct!

This is very exciting but I think that I still  haven't realized of how big this would be for me if I got accepted. It would mean that I would move to Barcelona for three or four years which isn't bad at all! But even if I don't get in (which is big possibility) my plan B would be to have another gap year. No matter what the result is I am happy and I know that I will continue to be happy! :)

A year ago I would have been totally stressed out about this but I am glad that I am not too worried about it as much as I thought I was going to be. Stress is not on option for me anymore! The level of stress I used to have was that high up that you couldn't even see where it ended! I even lost half of my hair because of the stress so you people out there...don't stress! Easy to say that but hard to control it.

I am focusing now on the things I can do and I seriously need to start knitting those shocks I was talking about on my previous post!
The sun is still shining in Finland even at 10 o'clock at night or probably even later than that!

I feel like an old woman when I listen to this song but I love it!

Mission: Keep myself busy

Hello there!

I can't believe that I haven't written anything on this blog for such a long time. I can't say that I have been extremely busy but I needed some time on my own.

I think coming back to Finland was harder than I thought in the beginning. Now that I have had some time to figure out things and think of my life here I am not going to complain about anything anymore. Work isn't so bad after all and I get to see my friends and family here which is good! I am going to use my time the best way possible. I already lent some books from the library and I think I am going to start knitting another pair of socks just to get ready for the winter :D mmm...maybe I will knit two pairs if I am fast enough! I also started playing the flute again and I am happy about that because I had forgotten my flute somewhere for ages...hupsy!

Maybe this isn't going to be as bad as I thought...I actually enjoy more and more being here. I just needed some time on my own to calm down.

So the solution to my problem is to look ahead and keep myself busy!

The story comes to an end

Hello loves!

Now that my gap year is basically over lets talk about the final impressions of all this craziness, shall we?

The most popular questions that people have been asking me lately are  a) Have I met any man on my trips? and b) Have I learned anything this past year?. People definitely are curious of my love life eh? Well, I think it would be better to jump the first question and go straight to the next one! To be honest I have been wondering the same thing...have I honestly learned anything this last year?

Let's go back to 2012 (don't worry I will try to make it short). Before leaving to Barcelona in October I was panicking sooo much that I couldn't even enjoy the fact that I was going to fulfill my dream of going to Spain. It was scary and I had difficult times like feeling lonely and bad luck with my apartment. Now I realize how good all these things were to help me grow up and take responsibility. Besides, when bad things happen I have this in mind...
A friend of mine sent this to me on facebook! I think it suits me perfectly haha

If I can give a piece of advice to people is to stay calm! What's the point of panicking about everything beforehand anyways? Bad things will happen wether you like it or not, but on the other hand many good things happen as well, but as human beings we tend not to appreciate all those good moments in life.
So whenever a bad moment strikes just breathe in and out and say "This is not the end of the world!". Life would be a lot more simple if we weren't such drama queens! I am saying this because I used to be the queen of all the drama queens (seriously...)! I dont know what kind of miracle has happened nowdays but I am a lot more relaxed than I used to be.

Don't think though that I have always been a brave person. It took a lot of courage to travel on my own around Italy and Spain. Before going to Italy my father was begging me not to go and he was scaring me with all these stories that I would get killed by some Italian mafia guy. Fortunately that didn't happen! I am not saying that it was all the time fun traveling on my own but I met really awesome people on the way and whenever I felt lonely at least I learned to enjoy myself! If I had been scared to even try to travel on my own I would have missed all these great experiences. I might  have no money left but I am rich in other ways :)

So here I am still alive of all that traveling and the final impression of this last year has been definitely positive!! This gap year has come to an end but I am looking forward to a bright future :)

Getting ready for Italiaaa

Hello there!

Just four days left before my big trip in Italy and you won't be seeing me here for two and a half weeks because I won't have internet or time to update my blog! Anyhow, I must say that I am freaking out right now (as expected). I remember when I had this feeling before going to Spain and in the end I thought what a waste of energy on worrying about my trip all that time! All my guy friends are always so relaxed about their trips and I envy them so much!  I wish I was the kind of person who could just go with the flowww and take it easy! I guess it's a woman thing. I always have to plan my trips like two months beforehand. It seems like I have the Monica Geller syndrom who always has to have everything in order and organized perffectly! I admit it I am strange...

On the other hand you might be thinking why do I want to travel so much if it freaks me out ? Well, the main reason is that I want to overcome my fear of traveling and doing things on my own. Most of my friends are students and they have busy schedules so they can't travel with me. I don't want to be the kind of person who is going to regret for something in the future just because I didn't have the courage to do it on my own. Plus that's what a gap year is for...to live la vida locaaa!

I am sure that each trip is going to teach me something new about life. Just going to Spain on my own was a huge step for me, but it really helped me realize some things about myself. It is true what they say that traveling opens up your mind :)

Loved the sunny day we had yesterday, why did it have to start raining again?? Why??

Again a long post but thanks for reading! :)

La dolce vita in Italia

Ciao!

Little by little I am planning my trip to Italy! My father has been already freaking out because I am going alone. I would prefer to have company with me, but I haven't found anybody who would like to join me so I have decided to go on my own. Of course every trip has it's own risks and many things can happen while I am there, but on the other hand does that mean that I should sit home all the time in case of something bad happens? Besides I went to Barcelona on my own and it was fine...scary at first but I survived and in the end I had a great time!
Also the reason why I wanted to have a gap year was to see new places and forget about schools and Universities for a while!
I guess my parents (or actually my father ehm...) have the issue of not wanting me to go to Italy. But fortunately I have my own money and at this age I make my own decisions.

A few days ago my mom found her old diaries from 1980 where she has written all her stories from her trips in Europe. I must say that I am quite surprised because she did some stupid things at the time! But she met my dad on one of her trips so I guess it's not that bad...
Just  imagine how things were 30 years ago! At least now we have internet and mobile phones to communicate in case of something wrong happens...back then they had nothing! I have no idea how she had the guts to go on a trip like that on her own.

Maybe now I understand why my father is freaking out so much...he knows all my mom's crazy stories and now he is afraid that his little girl is going to do the same crazy things (which weren't that crazy to be honest). Oh well, parents just always want to be overprotective, but at some point you have to leave your children to live their own lives.

Today I bought I map and a guide book for Rome and I am so excited to start planning my trip! For now my plan is to start from Rome and stay there for a week or so. Afterwards I would like to go to Florence for another five days (probably visit Pisa if I have time) and then stay for the weekend in Bergamo or Milan! :D I think they are going to be two very fun weeks!

If you have ever visited Italy I would be glad to get any kind of information or recommendations of places to visit! :)

Arrivederci

Hometown glory

Γειά σας!

Hello, hello! What's up ladies and dudes? Most of you are probably busy getting ready for Christmas and all! How excitiiiiing :D
I am just realizing that for me Christmas used to be more about the presents and nothing else (selfish little brat), but now it's more about celebrating the birthday of Jesus which is how it should be! These days it's not very fashionable to be a christian and to be honest I have been hiding that a bit from my blog but I don't see the point on doing that anymore. The truth is that I had a long break that I didn't go to the church because I was so disappointed on how christian people were acting sometimes and I didn't want to believe in God just because the rest of my family did. I think this year has taught me a lot and even my trip to Spain was truly a blessing and it made me realize many things.

Anyway...to change the subject now I am living with two men because my mom left to Finland for a few weeks so I am here alone with my dad and my friend who came from Finland to enjoy the sun and the "warm" weather hehe :)
Here is a look of what we have been doing here with Jasu! Walking and shopping quite a lot I would say :D
First we walked close to the sea...

...and then we continued our walk to the beautiful mountain of Pilio
A local said that this tree is 1100 years old, not sure if I should believe it or not, but it could be!
fur hats are in fashion now hihi
I love my hometown because it has a little bit of everything. If you want to take a walk close to the sea it's right next to our house and if you want to take a walk in the mountains you can do that as well. Maybe that's why I liked Barcelona that much because it had the mountains and the sea...it felt like home :)

*not very Greek, but I like the song :P enjoy!

¡Hasta luego!

Believe in me

Hey dudes!

It is obvious that I have been spending way too much time with myself...I even laugh at my own jokes, not cool man! But mostly I have been freaking out about my trip which is in only 14 days. I must say that I am scared shitless right now. I don't like to swear or use the word shit whatsoever, but this is how I really feel and I need to be honest about my feelings. I know I have been driving you all crazy about it (my trip), but I can't help it (or maybe I can)!

The thing is that I have been realising some things about myself and suddenly everything feels so clear to me. All this time I have been telling to myself that I should never let anybody in my life tell me what I can and what I can't do. Don't take me wrong I still believe in that, but that's not what has been my issue. I have been realising that I am the one who is telling me that I can't do things. Not my family or my friends, but clearly me! How easy it is to blame others! Most of the time it is us ( or in my case me) who won't let us do the things we ( I ) want. I always think that there is always somebody better than me out there which is true! There is always somebody better than you out there, but instead of wasting your energy on thinking about that wouldn't it be just a lot better to say to yourself  "I can do this!" ? I have been comparing my life too much with other people's lives and being jealous of what other people do and I haven't been proud of what I have achieved all this time. I need to make myself believe in me more.

Clearly I have been thinking too much again. I don't even know where all that came from...as I said, I have been spending wayyyy too much time with myself. The unfortunate thing about it is that I can't take a break from me...how ironic!

Hopefully you got something out of this!
Love this...

Out of control

Hey there!

It feels like I haven't written anything for so long! I have been trying to do other things for a change and I started running again...that's right! I hate running but it keeps my mind off from other things that have been making me sad lately. I just can't control my emotions anymore! These past few days I have been so messed up...what scares me the most is that I am going to have to go through that horrible depression that I had last year and right now that's the last thing I want!

At this point I should be just super excited that I have only one month left for my trip to Barcelona and be like WOHOOO! Instead I just feel numb...I am blank...no emotions...nothing. Why is that? Maybe it is because I always have too high expectations and in the end things are a lot different than I thought. This time I just want to go there without all these expectations. I guess when you don't have too high expectations you can't get disappointed either, right?

Anyway...I am trying to be positive and stop thinking too much about it :)
I had to share this picture of the most amazing moon ever. This reminds of last summer when I used to sit by the sea and watch the moon for ages...good times :)

Now I know where I belong

Hey there!

Being a girl from two countries has good and bad moments. One of the hardest things for me this summer has been the fact that I haven't been able to go home and by that I mean Greece. My plan for the future is to go back to Greece no matter what happens. I just feel safe and happy whenever I go there. People ( most of the time ) are happy and very LOUD which is something that I absolutely love. They use so much passion even when they talk. These three years here were good for me because I learned about my other "half". I still believe that Finland is not the place I want to live for the rest of my life unfortunately. There are so many good things here but I don't belong here.
Just appreciate the fact that you don't have these kind of problems if you are from one country :D
Today I am showing off my nerd glasses...love them <3 thanks to them I am not blind :P

Now I have to focus on my driving lesson which is tomorrow...it is not as easy as I thought it would be :/

More thoughts

Hey there!

Today I am going to start my post with a question, does it ever happen to you that you promise to yourself you will start making small changes in your life but you end up doing nothing? Well that's what happened to me. I remember I promised to myself I would make this summer special in a way and start doing exciting things, but all I have been doing is sitting home and watching telly and the only person I should blame about that is me! Okay...I must say that I have been trying, I mean it's a big step for me to even start driving lessons and I have also managed to organize my trip to Spain.

My biggest concern so far has been money and I have been trying to save every penny which has affected my time here. I even cut my own hair because it is so damn expensive here ( must say that I did a pretty good job :P ). When I didn't need to worry about money I would travel all the time and go to different places in Finland, but now things are different. I am not complaining though because I have a job and I have learned so many things. I am more careful with money and I have learned to spend it wisely. Yeah my life might have been a bit boring the past few months, but I have been waiting for my trip to Spain for two years and now that I know that it's only two months away it's like HELL YEAH I am really going and nothing can stop me!

These two years I have learned that if you really want something that bad you will have to wait and work really hard to get it. Sometimes I have this thing that I want everything now and I must say that I hate that about myself. You can't have the great career and your own big house by the age of twenty. Even nowdays I see that I want to travel as much as possible but I haven't realized that a) I don't have enough money to do that and b) One year isn't enough. On the other hand I want to study something next year but on the other hand I want to travel...I want it all! Silly me...

I know I have been driving you crazy with my long texts these pasts few days. I hate reading long texts but I don't mind writing them :P

Have a great week guys!
Here is a random video that I found. They are not bad...check it out ;)

Communication is the key

Hello!

What's up dudes?! My "relationship" with my blog has been a bit on and off. Today I am back with more things to write about... I will keep the recipes behind for a while because I am gonna start a healthy lifestyle now. We have a small problem with obesity in my family so I need to be extra carefull with these things.

Today was my first driving lesson and I didn't kill anybody...what a relief! Also for a few months I will have to live on my own because my mom and my sister went back to Greece. Maybe I will survive these two months that I have left here in Finland. Also I booked the language school in Barcelona and now I am looking for a job in the same city which is going to be a bit more challenging.

What I really want to write about today is relationships in general. Yesterday I had a bit of drama with a friend of mine. I am not going to get into details because that wouldn't be fair for anybody. I just want to write about my experiences so far and what is the best way to communicate with people. It is well known that in order to have a good relationship with somebody ( either it is your boy/girlfriend or just a friend or a member of your family ) you need to put a lot of efford to make it work. As always communication is the key. If you have something that bothers you don't keep it inside you. When somebody's behaviour bothers you talk about it with the person itself. If you find talking difficult then write a letter. Some people say that a letter is not a good idea, but I must say that I disagree. Writing it down gives you time to think about it more carefully and the person who is going to read it might understand better what you are trying to say. Usually when we fight we tend to say things that we don't mean and most of the times it gets out of control. It is important to talk about those issues when you are both calm and you can actually listen to each other. Also blaming the other person isn't the right way to approach things. It is better to say how you feel and what kind of changes you need to make together in order to make things easier for the future. We can never blame one person for everything. ( okay maybe that depends on the situation I guess :P )

Don't worry I am almost done! I just want to empasize that this is just my personal opinion,
there are still many things that I need to learn! I am glad that me and my friend cleared things out. These kind of situations come and go.

That was my lesson of the day. Have a nice day! :)

Problems and more problems

Hey there!

I have been fighting the whole day to put a new picture on my blog, but for some strange reason I can't make it look they way I want. It is either too big or too small and I can't put it in the middle...so annoying. Pretty much this has been one of my biggest problems today... yeah I know it's a bit pathetic.

Anyway  at least work has been going great and I don't make as many mistakes as I used to, plus I helped this new emploee the other day which means that I have actually learned something all this time yey! I am not as useless as I thought hehe :)
I am glad that the people I have been working with have been kind and nice. It's a pitty that I have heard people saying that they haven't been happy with their working environment. Either they have had problems with other emploees or something else. It's sad that people choose to treat other people like shit. After all it is a choice how to treat others. When I was little I always thought that grown ups have never problems with other people because...well they are just grown ups and they know how to communicate and solve problems. It is nothing like that after all! There is still bullying even between grown ups, but people don't want to talk about it because it is thought as something that happens between children or teenagers. It just doesn't make sense why anybody would like to be the "mean" guy of the whole case by treating others badly. Is it a matter of power? Who knows...
Problems never end no matter how old you are after all. I am one of the lucky ones, but I wish I could do something for other people who have these kind of problems at work or at school.

Anyway...maybe I have been thinking too much again.

Going back to my first problem...does anybody know how I can put the title of my blog look like this? Also I have been trying to crop this photo to the right size but when I upload it on here it just looks smaller than it is....super annoying. Also I tried to upload this picture but it also didn't work out very well...

I am just having some technical problems....hoping to solve them soon.

Goodnight everybody!

Find myself?

Hello, hello!

I have been thinking all this time the reasons why I made this blog but to be honest I can't find a specific one. People have been asking me "why blogging?" and my answer is just for fun! Does everything in life need to have a deeper meaning? Well, actually now that I think about it I wanted to start blogging to write about my trip to Barcelona that is going to be in October ( still waiting for that...), but I have noticed that through this blog I have learned so many things and I am happy that I started blogging in January and not October.

These past four-five years I have been just trying to find myself without any successful results. A while ago I had this crisis and I started thinking what I want to believe in. My family has very critical views and opinions about some things and at some point I wasn't quite sure if those things were what I really believed or was it because my family believed in these things. I do respect other people's opinions but I want to have my own opinions and see things from a different point of view or more correctly said from MY point of view.

Now that I finished school I want to travel and experience new things! I haven't been able to do that and I haven't seen anything else besides Finland and Greece. I am not in a hurry to go study something. I believe that I have time to do that later. Now I just want to learn, get some more experience and finally live my life! Finding myself isn't important for me anymore...besides I believe that people grow and learn every single day. Maybe I was making it too big of a deal to "find myself"! What does it matter anyways?

Right now I just need my own time and own space. I am more than ready to spread my wings and fly far away! Yeah I am becoming a bit melodramatic so I am going to stop now...

This year is going to be full of surprises and it's a bit scary not knowing exactly what to expect! But maybe that's the fun part of this whole growing up and experience process! :D

Practise makes perfect

Hey there!

After my recent breakdown I decided to do something about it and I have some news! Guess who is going to start driving lessons in a couple of weeks??? ME! Since I started working my timetable hasn't been very flexible, but finally I got it all figured out! Also I decided to buy a new objective or lense ( or however you call it ) for my camera...so all camera freaks out there if you have any ideas please please please help me to choose the right one! It has to be a reasonable price though...yeah I know I am demanding! I am still clueless about these things so all advice is good!

I seriously need a project and a deadline to keep myself busy for this summer otherwise I will have many breakdowns again and again...not good! But before I start any project I need my camera first! I had no idea how addicted I was to it till this happened. It's true that when you miss something you realize how important it is after all! :O

Even though my photographing skills are quite bad there is something that fascinates me about it. Some people have the natural talent to know how to take a picture and make it look good...well I don't have that kind of talent. But I believe that if you want to learn something you will learn it. That is what happened with guitar...I decided to learn how to play it and I did it! ( maybe not so perfectly but is that important? ) Practise makes perffect! That is what I have to do with photography... I just need to practise and take lots of pictures and see what suits best. Mostly I just want to find my own style...

Even with baking happened the same thing. I had no idea how to make a cake, but slowly I learned how to do it. Books help a lot and to be honest a drastic change isn't going to happen overnight. I had to search a lot to find the right recipes and you can imagine what our kitchen looked like when I was trying something new all the time. A TOTAL MESS! I have to say that people have been very patient with me all this time...

Oh well! That was it for today :) A rather boring post I must say, but more interesting things to come soon...I hope

Searching True Beauty

Hello!

The main reason I made this blog was to write about my thougts, but I have slipped away from that "path" which isn't a bad thing because to be honerst I would have run out of thoughts all this time. Lately I have been reading this book called Valloittava salaisuus ( Captivating secret ) that is mainly about women and how to understand their soul and actions. It is quite interesting so far, but I have read only half of it ( I am a really slow reader...-_-)

Anyway, that was not my point. Yesterday I got to this chapter which was saying about beauty and how women have the need to feel beautiful and to be told that they are beautiful which is true. But I didn't quite understand what they meant in the book by the word "beautiful". I got a bit confused and I was thinking about it.

I looked on wikipedia about it and this it what it had about beauty : "Beauty (also called prettiness, loveliness or comeliness) is a characteristic of a person, animal, place, object, or idea that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure or satisfaction".  Still that doesn't say anything to me. There are different ways of saying that somebody/something is beautiful. Nowdays the "ideal" beauty that the fashion industry has brought up is to be tall, skinny ( size zero )and to have a tanned and flawless skin. Taking into concideration those three things I should be really ugly, because I am not tall, I am not skinny ( I would say normal size :P ) and I don't have flawless skin because I had and I still have a bit of acne (and I am pale). So that means that I am not beautiful? Of course not...or at least I want to believe so.

I am sure you have heard this that beauty comes from within. People tend to say it a lot but it is true. The next time you start to get to know somebody just pay attention on how much a person's character or other details about the person itself is going to either draw you closer or make you run away. There have been times that I have met somebody ( so called good looking ) but there is nothing that this person can offer and by that I mean that they are so full of themselves that I want to shake them and tell them "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! THIS WORLD ISN'T ONLY ABOUT YOU!" but I can't do that so I just run away I guess ( but I don't recommend you to do that ). But there have been times that a person who doesn't really "fascinate" me much the first time I see him or her and we end up having the greatest conversations and I start to see these people in a totally different way. Has it ever happened to you?

Still I see many people who are beautiful in and out, but they still think they are not good enough or beautiful enough. As the book said we need to hear it ( that we are beautiful ). I am lucky to have been raised in a family where my parents always told me how beautiful I am in and out. Especially my father till this day looks at me and tells me that I am beautiful. Even though most girls don't like to hear that from their father's mouth it makes me feel good about myself.

Also TV plays an important role in beauty. Just count how many advertisments are just about buying the right product to make you 10 years younger or by using this particular machine you are going to get the perffect body or the body you have always dreamed of! I mean all that is bullshit but we still fall for that and we buy ( or at least I do...I admit ) all those things just to make us look good. Plus we see these film stars and we say wau they look good! But think how much time they spent on having their make-up and hair done. Whoever can look different with a ton of make up.

I was surprised to read on wikipedia this: "People who appear ugly to others suffer well-documented discrimination, earning 10 to 15 percent less per year than similar workers, and are less likely to be hired for almost any job, but lack legal recourse to fight discrimination". I don't know whether it's true or not, but if it is then why are we always talking about inner beauty ( like I did previously) if it doesn't matter at all? We are that shallow after all...

Fashion industry has made a big mistake by giving the wrong picture of how people should look like. We all look different and we should embrace what we have not the opposite.  Beauty is also all about confidence don't forget that. If you feel good about yourself it shows and that is what I call beauty. Feeling good of who you are and not letting others define you is very important.

I don't know if you understood anything of what I said and I am pretty confused myself about this D:
I would be glad to know what you think! :)
